About DIRECT Project

In today’s rapidly evolving digital age, the impact of our technological advances is profound. As our lives merge more deeply with the digital world, it is crucial to understand the rights and responsibilities that come with this change.

The DIRECT programme aims to demystify the intricacies of the digital age, with a particular focus on human rights. With mobile devices increasingly becoming an extension of ourselves, we see our identities, personal data and even our essence becoming bytes and bits, housed in expansive digital vaults. The internet, which began as a communication tool, has evolved to encompass learning, commerce, activism and much more, becoming a space where our personal and professional spheres intertwine and expand.

This web platform is developed through the Erasmus+ Digital Rights (DIRECT) research programme, has been coordinated by JEF Madrid, with the support of JEF Spain and the collaboration of the Young European Federalists (JEF EU) and Tallinna Tehnikaikool (TALTECH) as partners.

JEF Spain is a federation of independent, non-partisan youth associations working to transform the European Union into a prosperous, resilient, and peaceful Federal Europe.

The project has been promoted as a contribution to a critical part of European citizenship, knowledgeable about their rights and institutions. In addition, the way in which other parts of the project, such as the research and the seminar, have been developed has served both to create a valuable product and to involve the younger members of the association, thus enhancing their skills in organising international events as well as their interest in the topic.
